How To Write a Non-Fiction Book Proposal
About the Author
Although you still have to talk about yourself in the third person, finally you can have a little fun!
Give your official author bio with all the good stuff: your qualifications, education, awards, and previous writing, speaking, and interviewing experience. Don’t forget to include the URL of your website or blog. But also let your personality shine through. Talk about your family life, where you live, what you love to do besides writing. Reveal an unusual hobby or silly anecdote.
And throw in a recent photo of yourself. Doesn’t have to be professional headshot, a cropped photograph is fine; just something relatively close-up so publishers can put a face to the name. No photos with your kids or pets though. Publishers only want to see your smiling face, not a family photo album.
This section should be 3 or 4 paragraphs; not longer than a page.
